Our Workshop

Our Interior Plantation Shutters and our Exterior Cedar Shutters are handmade in our shutter workshop in Gaithersburg by our expert staff. While typical shutters companies offer only one type of mount for all kinds of different windows, Perfect Fit prides itself on the many options we have available to us since we have the workshop, the tools and the expertise. We offer our customers the best options for their particular trim and windows because no home is the same. From the windows, to the trim, to the depth and to the color every home is unique.

Perfect Fit pays a great deal of attention to detail on every one of their custom shutters. Mortised hinges, fluted wood dowels and rabbeted panels are always standard on our Plantation Shutters. Our Plantation Shutters are constructed to exact tolerances so that the shutters and frames are flush, and the panels open and close without hitting or binding. Each shutter is hand-sanded multiple times to give them a high quality finish.

Our installers all started in the shop making our shutters and are full-time employees, not contract blind installers. Each project is finished thoroughly, neatly, and in the most professional manner. We take the time to align panels, caulk, fill and paint screw holes, providing a truly “perfect fit.”

“Made in the USA” is Perfect Fit Custom Shutters’ commitment to you, which means we support job creation and job preservation in the United States by using components made in America, and manufacturing at our own shutter workshop right here in Maryland. The wood we use for our interior shutters is harvested in the United States from a Verified Sustainable Hardwood Forest. Our high-quality Thermalite material is extruded in Virginia.
